A group's coursework

A group’s lessons, files, videos and assignments are written in Classroom, where the people who teach the class run it - see Classroom. On the group’s own page, the academy marks the work its students hand in.

Anyone whose role can see Learning sees the Marking card. Owners and admins can mark, and so can anyone whose role has Learning set to Manage.

Open the class in Classroom

On the group’s page, Open in Classroom opens the group in Classroom, in a new tab. It is shown only to the people assigned to teach the group: Classroom lists the classes a person teaches.

Mark what comes in

Marking lists the group’s assignments - the lessons that collect work - each with the mark it is out of, for example out of 10. Until there is one, it says Nothing to mark yet. Assignments set in Classroom appear here.

1. Press an assignment. Its marking sheet opens, with the group’s students and what each one handed in.
2. Give a mark out of the total, and a note back if it helps, and press Save.
3. When the marks are ready, press Return, which counts the marks waiting - Return 4, for example.

Started, not handed in	they attached something and never handed it in
Nothing handed in	the deadline may have passed, and nothing arrived
Marked … · not returned	you marked it; the student does not see it yet
Returned · …	the student sees the mark

Marks are not visible to students until you press Return, so you can mark a class over an evening and give the marks back together. Back to the class returns to the group’s page.
